Intermediate Programming

In the intermediate training template, the athlete breaks the training regimen into a “split” routine: on day one, perform the squat and bench, on day two perform the deadlift and overhead press. The intermediate trainer begins a 12-week periodization cycle: each week reps are dropped as poundage is increased. Strength and power are systematically increased.
